To mitigate these impacts, CSA has successfully transplanted and reattached approximately 40,000 living coral colonies domestically and internationally. Notably, on a recent project CSA removed 4,500 coral colonies from a construction corridor, transported them 45 kilometers to a designated donor site, and reattached the colonies. CSA is currently monitoring the transplanted corals, which to date have achieved a survival rate of over 99%. Other mitigation projects have included the installation of artificial reefs, topographic reconstruction of damaged coral reef framework, and the stabilization and/or removal of loose rubble caused by the disruption of substrate from vessel groundings.
CSA provides Mitigation and Restoration Services to Government, Oil & Gas, Telecom, Commercial, and Industrial customers on a worldwide basis, comprising ecological site assessments, restoration planning, monitoring design, and the implementation of turnkey projects.
