TEAMWORK THAT’S SURE AS SHOOTING: CSA WOMEN TAKE AIM AT STUART CLAY SHOOT

At CSA Ocean Sciences (CSA), some of the most rewarding opportunities for professional growth, teamwork, and confidence happen outside of the office. Last summer, for example, a group of women from CSA went snorkeling with sharks, an exhilarating team activity that called for a shared sense of trust, communication, and coordination. This summer, partly inspired by the impressive performance of the TDI-Brooks Women’s Team at the Marine Technology Society Clay Shoot in Houston, a few CSA women hit a clay course at the South Florida Shooting Club, not far from CSA’s Corporate Headquarters in Martin County, Florida.

Clay shooting is more than a sport—it’s an opportunity to set new challenges, learn new skills, and build meaningful connections. It combines outdoor recreation, firearm safety, and fun competition. For some, the day was an opportunity to sharpen existing skills; for others, it was their first experience of handling a shotgun. Regardless of experience level, everyone approached the day with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Firearm safety is our first responsibility. Before stepping onto the course, participants received instruction on range safety procedures including gun handling, range etiquette, and safe shooting practices. Everyone enjoyed seeing their practice pay off as shattered clays whirled against the blue Florida sky.

Events like this reinforce something we value deeply at CSA: strong teams are built through shared experiences. Whether we’re collaborating on environmental assessments, developing mitigation strategies, or supporting our clients’ projects, trust and teamwork are at the heart of what we do. Spending time together in a different setting helps strengthen those relationships that resonate back into the workplace.

CSA is proud to support opportunities that bring our people together, encourage outdoor recreation, promote responsible firearm safety, and celebrate the accomplishments of all our team members.
